Set up five to six flat cones in a straight line within the designated area. Instruct athletes to line up at the first flat cone to make a single file line. Instruct the first athlete to stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and have the athlete “bend” (hinge) at the hips to begin the jumping process (athletic position). Instruct the athlete to jump (extend hips) over the flat cone and land in between that cone and the next one in line. Repeat the process until athlete has “jumped” over each flat cone, then have athlete get back in line. IF ATHLETE CAN’T JUMP OVER FLAT CONE: Athletes can also stand with feet shoulder-width apart next to the flat cone and jump and land to the side of the next cone. For advanced athletes: place low hurdles in place of flat cones.
