I-STANCE

Instruct the athlete to stand with the feet such that one heel is against the other toe, in an ā€œIā€ position. Then the athlete must walk the required distance or circuit while placing one foot in front of the other. This exercise can be done by also giving the athletes a plate and placing a small ball on the plate for them to balance while walking forward. Have athlete also try walking backwards. Set up cones that are about 5 to 10-yards apart on a line (if possible). Athletes should walk in between these cones. If there is a line on the field available, use that for the athlete to follow.
