Instruct the athlete to stand with the feet such that one heel is against the other toe, in an “I” position. Then the athlete must walk the required distance or circuit while placing one foot in front of the other. This exercise can be done by also giving the athletes a plate and placing a small ball on the plate for them to balance while walking forward. Have athlete also try walking backwards. Set up cones that are about 5 to 10-yards apart on a line (if possible). Athletes should walk in between these cones. If there is a line on the field available, use that for the athlete to follow.
